Clowder is a one-person business in Québec. This page explains what personal information clowder.app collects, why, where it is kept, and how to see, correct or delete it. It follows Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25).
I'm Mikhail Zadvornov, the founder of Clowder, and I'm the person responsible for protecting personal information at Clowder. For any privacy question or request, write to me at mikhail@clowder.app or call or text 579-490-8423.
Only what you give me, in three situations:
I don't buy lists, and I don't collect information about you from anywhere else.
I don't sell or rent your information, I don't send newsletters, and I won't use it for anything else without asking you first.
I use a few outside services to run Clowder: the database and photo storage (servers in Montréal), website hosting and email delivery (in the United States), payment processing, and my business email. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.
Because some of these services are outside Québec, your information may be stored or processed in the United States, where it is covered by those companies' own privacy and security commitments.
When a kitten buyer sends a message through a breeder's website built on Clowder, that breeder is responsible for the message and the personal information in it. Each cattery site has its own privacy policy. Clowder only stores and delivers these messages for the breeder and never uses them for anything else.
The clowder.app pages you're reading don't set cookies. If you log in to the Clowder app, it uses a few essential cookies: the ones that keep you signed in, and one that remembers your language.
To count visits, I use a tool that sets no cookies, doesn't follow you to other sites, and only gives me totals, like how many people opened a page.
You can ask me at any time to:
Write to mikhail@clowder.app. I'll reply within 30 days, and it's free.
If you're not satisfied with my answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
If a security incident puts your information at risk of serious harm, I'll tell you and the Commission d'accès à l'information promptly, as the law requires.
If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how I use information you've already given me, I'll tell you by email first.
